Global finance and professional services leaders join GHS@COP26 platform to mobilise private capital in the transition to net zero during hybrid event

 2-5 and 11 November

14 September 2021 – The City of London Corporation (COLC) and Green Finance Institute (GFI) are pleased to announce the 25 leading financial and professional services institutions joining the Green Horizon Summit at COP26. GHS@COP26 will deliver a hybrid platform to mobilise private finance in the transition to net zero.

Our partners include:

Recognising the vital role finance will play in transitioning the real economy to net zero, GHS@COP26 will be the go-to platform to engage in practical dialogue and facilitate action around finance at COP26.

Our 25 partners bring together key influencers from across the financial and professional services sectors globally in the GHS@COP26 programme, helping to facilitate collaboration on a global scale, across sectors, geographies and stakeholder groups. This event will represent perspectives from around the world, to reflect and address the impact of climate change globally, and highlight local solutions.

About GHS@COP26

GHS@COP26 is a five-day hybrid conference taking place during COP26 this November, co-hosted by the COLC and GFI.

This event aims to be the go-to platform for global financial and professional services during this critical period, mobilising private finance to drive the transition to net zero. This will be achieved by:

  • Building alignment around a common understanding of green finance
  • Identifying and unlocking the barriers to the flow of capital into green finance
  • Facilitating collaboration by sharing knowledge and expertise from all key stakeholder groups (finance, policy, real-economy actors, science and academia, NGOs and civil society) through an accessible platform

GHS@COP26 will tackle the big questions we face in accelerating the flow of capital into climate and nature-friendly investments. These questions include:

  • How can we finance transition and growth?
  • How can we build a global playbook?
  • How can we price carbon and nature?
  • How can we meet, and beat, the $100bn promise?

GHS@COP26 sessions will be live-streamed across a number of platforms and channels, including our Swapcard community and open-access via our website.

Media: Media interviews and opportunities will be available in the run up to and during GHS@COP26. For more information on how you can cover the event and for updates on the programme as they are announced, please contact comms@gfi.green
